Mido Ocean Star

This Mido 1117 uses my favorite scheme for indirect sweep seconds.

The 3rd pinion has two concentric wheels, one is attached to the pinion, and the other is free to rotate on the 3rd pinion and meshes with the 4th pinion. Now that sounds crazy until you add the sweep pinion, which meshes with both, and the action is to pinch its leaves between the two wheels. It gives consistent low drag and the motion of the sweep hand is perfect, with no slop.

The scheme where there's just a spring that drags on the pinion, used on so many other movements, is far inferior.
